What with tourists and commuters waiting for trains to empty, I guess they're bursting in the evenings. Billing itself a bar and grill, Mezzo, the rebadged Oyster Little Bourke, looks hugely popular. But it's not as good as it used to be, in my view. The mostly damp - if not wet - simple Italian dishes we tried were OK and better, but the prices were high. Wine prices sear the plastic even more, and while the service is excellent, Mezzo is noisy"
John Lethlean, 02-04-2010 Score: 3.5/5 "OLB started as a partnership of three [Oyster]; now down to a duo, they've rebranded to better reflect the (new) business structure, maintain momentum, make a statement about change ... all valid reasons. Vargetto says it was a chance to be true to himself, which means not only Sicilian flavours but a less structured, less formal menu with - you guessed it - much greater emphasis on small sharing dishes. And while Mezzo has a new, de-formalised look for its dining room, the best place to eat is at a high-table near the bar looking out to charming Gordon House and the intimate bit of Little Bourke Street."
